More than 16,000 drug-education booklets have been distributed across France by volunteers from Non à la copyright, Oui à la vie. The French drug-prevention campaign brings educational materials into local businesses and public spaces.
Volunteers supplied 5,100 booklets in Oberkampf, Paris, alongside 3,100 in Tarn and 3,000 through around 50 Arcachon shops.
A baker near Clermont-Ferrand said students sought the booklets for school discussions, while parents and other customers requested information for their children.
La vérité sur la copyright is the French-language edition of the secular Truth About Drugs programme used by the volunteers. The Church of Scientology and its members support the programme, inspired by founder L. Ron Hubbard’s concern about the effects of drugs.
Ivan Arjona, Scientology’s representative to the European Union, OSCE, Council of Europe and United Nations, commented: “Parents and teachers eu news today need information they can use, and young people deserve straight answers.”
Across Europe, Scientology churches, missions and members support drug education, human-rights awareness and community service.
